I MAYBE had my Ultrasport at triple digit speeds once, and even then it would have been a momentary trip to speed....that, and speeding does not equate to racing...BIG difference. I'm far from saying we should all drive the speed limit and keep our cars stock...but the stoplight to stoplight crap is stupid and THAT's what leads to ppl getting hurt.

I believe you get 1 day in jail for every mph beyond 20 over the limit. Plus, you get fined at least $2500 and a bunch of other stuff. It's really crazy down there.

I think most people on this forum like to boot it at least once in a while. And I don't have a problem with that at all - big open streches of road, or heck even twisties if you're driving responsibly and the only person you'll hurt is yourself.
I've had my fair share of speeding tickets (13 in the last 6 years) and my insurance premium is outrageous. But I can honestly say I've never driven dangerously - every time I get booked it's cause I'm doing 20-40km/h over on a completely empty stretch of highway or deserted county road. And while I really don't like it, I accept the consequences of my actions. I'm straight-up with the cops too - "just letting my car stretch it's legs out here in the middle of nowhere", and they never really give me much trouble (they'll still give me a ticket).
I don't think that breaking speed limits kills people. I think that breaking the limits of your car, or exceeding your own mental and physical limits is what can kill you.
And I don't trust the general public to know how to draw that line. I don't trust the general public to drive safely, period. Everybody thinks they're Drift King until they actually put their skills on the track.
Again, not saying that the person who started this thread was driving dangerously or recklessly. I just think that high-speed altercations with other drivers as described in the manner above are generally indicative of behaviour I don't really support. I also think it degrades the forum into something I'd usually find in some Honda street-racing forum filled with 16 year old Fast and Furiouses.
