It is still perfectly safe
Considering you're running a longer wheel stud, or in the case of the Audi, a longer bolt. For a Quattro model, it doesn't effect the gear ratio or contact patch. Spacers only effect the offset of the wheel, thus either pushing or pulling the wheel towards the body of the car. On my NSX, I ran 25mm spacers all around and it held up around the road course for a couple of track days. And others have had not problems running spacers. Just make sure you're running the longer bolts needed to secure the wheel to it properly. That and use hub-centric spacers, not just generic spacers that will cause the wheel to shift around and not seat properly on the hub.

It's a little different when the car is lowered.
My car is lowered, thus having some neg camber. This causes the top of the wheel to go into the fender more and the bottom wants to stick out from the car more. If the wheel is uniform to begin with (no camber issues), then the spacer calculator will work accurately. However, like I previously mentioned, I all depends on how your car's stance look and for me, the setup that I'm running seems to look the best. By running the 10mm spacers in the front, the front wheels are flush with the fender but the bottom part of the wheel sticks out too far and doesn't look right. Sure I could have gotten some 5-8mm spacers but for something that minimal, I didn't want to spend an extra $120 on spacers & bolts so I compensated in the rear for a more uniform look. I think my car came out looking alright for how low it is.
