Correct.
Vibrant is mid pipe back. To me downpipe includes the cat. But the name mid-pipe is perfect. OEM mid pipe flows nicely, and IMHO does not need to be replaced. UNLESS, you are doing a test pipe or HFC that ends with a bigger outlet and goes to a custom 3" or 3.5" mid pipe.
In summary... OEM mid pipe flows well, OEM back of the exhaust has nasty crimps and could flow better. That is where Vibrant comes in.

I would buy one today if it were cat-back (including downpipe/flexpipe)...
I'll be getting a testpipe eventually and it just seems easier to have a cat-back exhaust (with downpipe/flexpipe) in place already.
Believe me, I really prefer the sound and the looks of the Vibrant system compared to any other.
Is there a way to get an aftermarket downpipe to go with the Vibrant system?

lol im confused - Isn't APR, AWE, etc. downpipe bigger than stock? So how...
do these bolt on to the stock cat? cant u guys make a downpipe that does the same? Or you're saying it wouldn't be worth it cuz of no gains correct?

I got extra 40 HP with the test pipe and the current setup...
I doubt you will see even larger gains with a larger mid pipe that starts with the OEM neck anyway....
I am sure any exhaust shop could fabricate the mid pipe, but again look atthe picture. Mid pipe is not where the problem lies.
