"Bubble" problems usually happen after hard tire impacts. The tire compresses for the impact, the air pressure rises- forcing the pressure to look for a release- which can create a bubble. Weaker areas in the tires fail first, and are more susceptible to a bubble.
Make no mistake- bubbles are a safety hazards and should be fixed ASAP. They can cause a slow leak or a massive blow out. If your state has an inspection program, a bubble will likely fail it.
Usually tire's are warranted for bubbles- Depends on the mileage. In all of my experience, I was able to negotiate compensation from bubble issues. (It happened three times on my Honda- all with BFGs.)

I was looking for a tire that can do better on snow. The guy in the shop receommended Yokomaha YK520 tires so I picked up a set. They seem to be better than the original Conti.
Although the new tires are the same sizes (235/45/R17), I noticed there were bigger gaps between wheels and tires. Strange...
