Just one pro-tip:

If your car has the rain-detector feature it needs the appropriate glass. Be sure to tell the glass shop that you have the rain-detector so they install the correct glass.

Friend of mine did mobile windshield installs and he said they carefully inspected the glass because some where of poor quality before they bought it. He said some shops don't care about the quality of glass their installing.

I had 4 or 5 windshields on my B7. I've had them all... OEM, Safelite, PPG, Pilkington (or however it's spelled.). The OEM glass is BY FAR the best optical quality. I'm not sure what the objection is to "soft" glass. I prefer it over all the others. And last time I had the windshield replaced, I requested that the installer get me OEM glass, and I would pay the difference over what the insurance covered. I doubt you can even get OEM glass for a B7 anymore. But if you can, I would stick with that.
Stay away from Safelite. Poor quality glass, and amateur installers.

Go to a glass place near you. Maybe they sell shower doors, or other glass products. They likely do windshields too, or can recommend someone.
Or call your insurance agent.
