Why are my reverse lights always on?
I have just noticed that my reverse lights turn on as soon as I start up the car. They never go out. Anyone know something about this?

The shifter assembly is accessed through disassembly of the upper portion of the center console. The shifter assembly is a fairly complex, tightly-packaged set of levers, switches, etc.; unless you have the service-manual and necessary tools, you should defer servicing the shifter assembly to a qualified technician. It's pretty tough to drive your car to the service shop by yanking/pushing the end of the shift linkage to change gears... ;-)

Rear fog-lights are legally required to have red illumination. Also rear fog-lights can only be one bulb on one side of the car (located in the left-hand light cluster for left-hand drive cars, right-hand cluster for right-hand drive cars) so that trailing vehicles can distinguish the rear fog-light from the brake-lights.
