Default Wish AoA did not require the

Prem. Pkg. and Tech Pkg. in order to get the S-Line pkg. 2.0TQ gets pricey and I'd really like to have the S-Line pkg. =(

Default You don't need the Tech package for S-Line

At the dealership I went to, they had a lot of A4 S-line cars w/out the technology package (non-HID headlights). Since I really wanted the factory HID headlights, I had to get the technology package but along with it came some extra cool stuff.

For the S-line package, you need the Prem package, ebony interior, and a sunroof, from what I can remember.

Default Re: You don't need the Tech package for S-Line

That is the downside, I would want Xenons. Xenons should be a stand-alone option. I hate to say it, but it is @ BMW.

Built an '06 Quart Gray 2.0TQ Spec'ed out with Sunroof Pkg., Prem Pkg., Tech Pkg., S-Line Pkg., and Tire-pressure monitor puts the MSRP @ $39,210. That is E90 330i territory. =(

Default i test drove the 330i prior to getting my B7 and..

while the 330 is quicker, the hands down over all winner in my opinion was the B7 sline. it belongs up there with the 330i.

Default that's the thing, I think the S-line is not worth it (I'm not into body kits)

on the other hand, I fell in love with the 330 when I saw it. I think it's a bit more refined then the aparent revisions that Audi made in the interior (notice the sarcaism, because they changed next to nothing inside). Ideally I would have the E90, but I got the B7 before the E90 was really out.

Default when you think about it though nothing was really wrong with the interior of the B6...

so audi must have taken an "if it aint broke dont fix it" stance when it came to the interior.

Default I was the exact opposite

When I got my B7 A4, the new 3-series had just come out and they were everywhere at the So Cal dealerships. At first I thought they were cool looking so it was a choice between the B7 A4 and E90 3-series. However, the day before I bought my A4, I was at the mall and saw a brand new 325/330 (which ever it was... they look the same) in black/black in the parking lot. After getting a good look at it, I didn't care for the body style as much anymore and the S-line look really grew on me.

Some other things that made me decide the A4 over the 3-series....

- not as many A4 S-lines on the road (I see tons of new E90 3-series on the road now)
- the A4 felt like it had more interior room, and I'm a big guy
- I like the ergonomics of the gauge cluster and audio console setup more on the A4 (w/navi, it's much cleaner looking and easier to use than the i-Drive)
- overall price w/options and warranties were about the same
- can't say much for driving differences since I did the slow test drive around the block
- BMW had a much higher lease rate than Audi, and Audi had the special 24 month rate going on, which is what I wanted

Don't get me wrong. The new E90 3-series is a good car but for me and my tastes, I prefer the B7 A4 S-line.

Default Just like a 325i can be the same price as a 330i too!

Option to option, the BMW is still more expensive than the A4...period.

Default I drove my B7 and the E90 325i Sport...

back to back, and I told the salesman that I would only buy the BMW if the deal was a lot sweeter than the B7. Didn't happen, I had Audi loyalty, Audi Visa money, and the rates were much better from Audi Financial. While the BMW was a nice car, I kept going back to the A4.
