I do believe all you needs is the "XMD1000 XM Direct Receiver". xm-radio-satellite.com is one site you can purchase from. Instructions for the A4 install are available on-line; however, I couldn't find them in the few minutes I had to search. But it is a easy install.

The part you need depends on whether you have navigation (or tire pressure monitoring?). I know that Audi dropped XM for'07. I would think the unit for the '05.5 and '06 would work. I have seen the XM unit wih no navigation very cheap on the web (including EBay).
Installing the unit is very easy - about 20 minutes or less

For that matter I have not heard what Sirius modules work with the new Symphony radios.
Anyone with an 2007, new symphony with sirius care to share the sirius model number?

I should say I have a '07 A4 with no nav. This is the unit I used and it works like a charm; however, you may want to speak with someone that sells these units to determine which specific model you need.

I just picked up an '07 A4 and would like to add XM radio ASAP. What parts did you use with your Symphony II sound system? All of the pages I found reference the older AUDI A4 models prior to the changes made this year.
Thanks for your help. Please email me if you'd like.

I am returning from out of town today. I'll check for the exact part# at home and report back. I do think it is the part# I posted above. It was quite cheap and easy to install. Really happy with it.

I've heard some controversey about the antenna having 1 vs 2 connectors though.
Has anyone verified an XM module on a Sirius-only recent build car with nav? When the officially dropped support for XM i wondered how long XM would stick around.
Also, if Xm and sirius merge, will it make any difference? What is the physical/electrical difference between the two boxes?

RascalD,
Just to clarify, all you need is the XMDirect1000? Are there any other adapters to make it work? Do you have control of the satellite via your radio controls?
Thanks for the help. The local dealer wants $400 + tax for the XM install. They say the AUDI XM kit is $150, and it's $250 for install (2 hours labor), which seems high since ppl have reported it taking only 20 minutes to install.
Thanks, again, for the help. I will be traveling for the next week. If you can drop me an email so I don't lose the thread, I'd _greatly_ appreciate it.
