Anyone here with an Avant and Yakima racks have a wind fairing installed? I mounted my rack where the mount points are indicated, but have yet to purchase the wind fairing. Needless to say, the whistling has become unbearable. For those that have wind fairing installed, did you just move the rack system forward of the indicated mount points? Any thing to worry about?
Thanks in advance.

The fairing rest on my roof rails. I cut down an aluminum rod to reinforce the fairing. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

I think it's working. There aren't any whistles, but I do get wind noise as soon as I hit 60mph.

it's a bad pic but i took all of the hardware off of my yakima fairing used on another car and made a new one from a piece of black polycarbonate. mine was a free scrap but it's probably less than $10 worth if you buy it.
the pic only shows 3 of the supports behind the fairing being used. i later modified it to use all four because the unsupported areas were flexing due to wind and touching the roof. now it works great! i also later cut the down the bars to match the width of the rails- it looks much cleaner and less "bolt on" now.
