Not sure if anyone has posted this yet (I don't think so), but here...

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=130097</a

I am wondering if performance software or chip will come out for the new 2.0T version of the new 2009 Audi A4? If so and if it boosts power up by 50HP that would be amazing and better deal than the 3.2 Quattro model.

Awesome that would be the way to go- the A4 sedan with 2.0T quattro, chipped/modded for performance to beat the competition with excellent fuel economy to boot for less money than the A5/S5 and cheaper insurance. A great daily driver. Can use extra money to save up for that R8 or Lambo.

Chips have their drawbacks too, as I'm sure you know. You risk losing warranty and shortinging the life of some of the mechanical components since they'll be subject to higher stress levels (engine internals, clutch, turbo itself, etc.). On top of that, the power delivery becomes less smooth... a typical aftermarket software causes more peaks and valleys compared to an OEM program. Also, if you buy a chip, you buy it to make use of it, so don't count on the fuel economy to be "excellent", if you know what I mean. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But all in all, a chip is definitely something worth considering. I had my B5 GIAC-chipped and did not regret it for the most part, aside from the GIAC chip itself that failed once.
But even in its stock form, the 2.0T has a very nice torque curve, pulling strong up to about 4-4.5k rpm. In typical day-to-day driving, that's all you need.
