It showed about 25% of the bar of the oil indicator on the MMI before I took it to my buddies house. He popped the hood and opened the cap where you put in the oil to show me where it goes or how he does it on his BMW. Well after that, I checked few hours later and it showed "no currently oil level is available at this time". I read through the threads and did the reset where you run the car with the gauge about half point, then turn off the engine for 2 minutes, and then turn on the car without the engine to get the MMI to read the oil level indicator again. Now the MMI shows the bar but it shows completely empty?? I've only driven this car for about 700 miles (bought it with 42900 miles on it).
The low oil indicator has not come on either. I have a scheduled to see the dealership on Saturday but this is getting ridiculous. I'm not sure if it's even safe to drive the car right now or if I should add oil in it myself. Any advice or sharing this experience would be appreciated.

it's safe to drive, but you should get a quart of oil in case the light comes on before you go to the dealership. you probably need to do the oil consumption fixes, i mean they should do that.
