I really like how the cleaned up the 3 series sedan with the fall update.
Before I thought the sedan was not a good looking car (but was still considering it), but now it looks darn good. But I still think the A4 looks better.

Let me first preface with..I have had issues with all cars..that being said..my 335i issues were...
1) Rear Brake Pad Sensor
2) Rear Brake Pad Sensor (again)
3) Weird electrical issue where oil pressure guage would go out of commission (x2)
4) Starter
5) High Pressure Fuel Pump (symptom - long cranking start)
6) Rear Brake Pads replaced
7) High Pressure Fuel Pump AGAIN (symptom - long cranking start)
8) Misfire/rough idle - High Pressure Fuel Pump AGAIN
9) Wastegate Rattle - waste gates replaced
10) Throw out bearing - replaced
11) Misfire/rough idle - High Pressure Fuel Pump AGAIN. Replaced two coilpacks, one spark plug, and fuel filter.
12) current in shop again for misfire/rough idle...latest word is that they think I have carbon buildup ...(where?)

I agree, the 09 328i looks better than it did in the past. The front and rear have a
cleaner, nicer look to it. I am looking at both the A4 2.0T and the 328i. The deals on the BMW make it a cheaper car to lease, and I think it drives a little better. The A4 looks better, but it is a little too big for my taste. It looks more like an A6, which I know some people like. I am also a little afraid to buy the first year of the A4....
This is why it tough to decide. I have owned both several 3 series, and several A4's in the past. I am having a real hard time deciding this time...

The problem with that event was that the Audi had ADS, and the BMW didn't have a Sports Package,
that made it tough to really compare the two. It wasn't really an apples to apples comparison.. Bigggest issue with the 3 is the sorry run-flat tires!

that list sounds like a major P.I.T.A.
335i is still > A4 (2.0) in my books if you don't need AWD (and assuming no problems for either car).
If AWD is needed, I'm not sure if 335xi > A4 b/c the xi doesn't look as sporty as the regular 'i' and maybe the driving dynamic will be less "BMW-like".
Sometimes you get lucky with (german) cars and sometimes you don't.

Hey Steve, sorry to hear about the issues w/the 335...
Are you thinking about an A4 2.0q? I'm slowly trying to convince my wife to get one (or a 328xi) to replace her S4 avant. We both despise the tip in the avant...; she wants to move back to a manual tranny.

Wazzup man..havent heard from you in awhile...
I finally got my current issues resolved..and going to get my Dinan tune put back on. I will reassess midyear..If I can get a white B8 A4 2.0T, 3.0TDI, maybe a 3.2 for a very good price..I may order one to replace the faster 335i. I want quattro, 6 speed, SLine.
