2010 S4 S-tronic gets better highway MPG than the 2.0T quattro tiptronic
According to fueleconomy.gov the new supercharged 3.0 V6 S4 quattro is rated at 18/28 with the 7-speed S-tronic transmission, compared to 21/27 for the 2.0T quattro with the 6-speed tiptronic. Interestingly enough, the 6-speed manual S4 is rated at 18/27.

The EPA test seems to under rate the 2.0T in just about every car its in. You can usually beat the EPA estimates on the highway by a few MPG. The old 1985-2007 test was actually more accurate.

AFAIK this may be due to Audi's ability to implement the lean burn mode in Europe which is unavailable in the US due to fuel quality issues.

That's great news if it holds true for the US debut. Nothing gets my attention more than a fast car getting good mileage. Anyone know what this motor gets in the current US A6?
