2011 A4 Oil Level Help

Hmmm, why did you even add oil when the MMI display shows half "full"? This only means that if you had a "traditional" dipstick, the oil level would be in the middle of high and low levels in the dipstick. It does not mean half of the whole oil capacity.
I don't add oil before the computer tells me to do it. Even when the MMI does not show anything, I mean the bar has disappeared, I still don't add oil. When the bar disappears, there's still some 200-300km's to drive, when the computer says: "Please add oil, max 1 liter, you may continue driving". Even this is not the last warning. When this warning comes you can add one liter (or one quart in US) safely.

I see this differently - the "recommended" amount of oil is at the top of the MMI display (i.e. fill amount after an oil change) - you can safely run below that, but it won't be optimal. May not hurt, but ...

Sort of like the TPMS system - it won't warn you until you are 20% below the correct tire pressure. That doesn't mean you should wait until you are 20% low and the computer warns you before you put air in your tires.
