328 vs A4
My 325 is getting old and and I'm looking to buy a new car. I've been very happy with my car and would have probably just bought another one until I saw the new A4 it gave me something to think about. Love the new style of the A4! Main problem is that Audi isn't really offering any good deals right now and their lack of a decent maintenance program makes BMW seem like a much better value. Can anyone help me make up my mind? I know you're all obviously Audi fans, but can anyone give me a reason why I should get one over the other? For anyone who was considering a BMW but got an Audi instead, what were the main factors in your decision?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Deals and incentives work on a month-to-month basis, that being said, Audi is offering $1000 on a conventional purchase or $500 on a lease/premier purchase because you are a current BMW owner. Also, if you are leasing, there are currently tax credits on quattro A4's. As far as maintenance being "free" on BMW's, it's just rolled into the price of their cars. With Audi, you have the choice to purchase or not. So, for an additional $740 you can have all of your maintenance paid for through the 45k, how does the price/value stack up to the BMW now? Also, keep in mind, that on all 2009 Audi's, brakes and batteries are included with the factory warranty. I hope this helps you in your decision making process, good luck!

Option to option the A4 is less money. There's conquest money if your BMW is a 2004 or newer through the end of the month.
But like I always say, Audi is not for everyone and that's ok.

I chose the A4 over 335i xDrive. Here was a good thread discussing your question:

BMW has better lease pricing, otherwise comparable pricing
As far as engines go, the 328i offers more hp but a lot less torque. As far as styling goes, I give the edge to the A4 for both exterior and interior. I do have a problem with the base model (Premium) A4 2.0T as looking too decontented, but it's really as well equipped or better than a base 328i. I would just go with at least a Premium Plus to get the cool LED headlights, chrome trim around windows, and nicer looking 17" alloys.

As I said elsewhere, I drove many cars before picking the Audi A4. Among them were:
Acura TL-SH-AWD Tech
BMW 328xi
BMW 335xi
Mercedes Benz C-300 4matic
Audi A6
Aud A4 with both engines
I chose the Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Prestige--2010 model. Best buy for me, and coupled with a more roomy interior and larger trunk (helpful when my colleagues visit), it was a natural choice.
I just drove the 335i X drive on Saturday--took an extensive drive with my wife--and she drove it too--thought it was too hard riding, too small inside, and too "jerky" meaning too powerful for her. I am fine with the power of the 2.0--in fact I thought it was quite impressive.
Good luck with your choice--

current 2007 E90 328, and soon to be A4 B8, owner here... so I will add my $0.02
my BMW has the sport suspension, I test drove the A4 with and without and there is no comparison to the BMW without the sport package handling wise.
Style is subjective, so there is not much to comment on, I really love the style in and out of both, my Interior is Terra/Black, similar to Audi cinnamon, people cannot comment enough on how great the color is when they see it for the first time, I only wish Audi had a 4th choice from basic black, boring beige and bland gray.
As far as pick up the 211 hp A4 felt much quicker than the 328 with 230 hp.
it is all about the torque.
as far as maintenance, my 328 has only been serviced 2x in 2+ years, I say if you go with the Audi and drive more than 12k a year Audi Care is a no brainer, if you do 7500-10000 a year it might not pay off in the long run,
oh and not to mention around my area the 328 is as common as a Camry..

One thing that turned me off completely from the 328i was the extremely cheap quality of the interior materials, and the design of the dash and dials which seemed out of the 1980's. I love the outside of most of their cars (the sedan is "meh" though) but the inside completely turns me off.

After 8.5 years of Audi I thought it was time for a change and I was convinced I'd got for a 3 series touring.
When we test drove it I wasn't at all impressed with the interior. It was basically the dash that turned me off. However it was the trunk that finished things. It's meant to be a Touring but there was way less space than my S4 sedan!!
I know the A4 is bigger overall but BMW seem to have lost a lot of the exterior dimensions inside the 3 series. It looks like more time in an Audi for me.
