He doesn't want Audicare. Let it go.
Thank you!

...and I do spend lots of time at the gym.
Maybe I should be paying others to work out for me? =)

HBL or as it's now known, Audi of Tyson's. I live nearby and have purchased a number of Porsche's and Audi's from them over the last 15 years. I have a regular salesman I work with there, so I was treated well.

I used to know the Sale Mgr but he retired. I also know the Service Mgr, which has proved helpful in the past. While not every transaction has been prefect, in general, if I escalate it to the right level, I can leverage my relationship history with the dealership to get what I think it fair.

I liked it better when Audicare was bundled in the price but will get it, as this is my wife's car and if I'm going to spend time working on something, it's going to be my GT3 RS, not the Audi.

MOFSTEEL, it's great you have the time and desire to do all that. I feel the same way about my bikes - I'm happier doing my own wrenching.

But, as another business owner (like MarkCincinatti) the $650 spent on Audicare is a steal. I call it "Zero Down Time". In the last 8 years, over my three Audis, the number of days where I have had to adjust my schedule because of car maintainence or issues = 0. I drop it off and the nice people give me a shiny new Audi to use until they tell me to come get my shiny Audi.

If your time literally equals money (i.e., billable time), AudiCare is a no brainer.

Leasing works very well if you own a business. No depreciation to deal with, just write it all off.

You're both right.

- All the maintenance to my cars is done by me and random 17 yr old porters don't drive my car at anytime.

- Not sure what you mean by "ANYTHING".

- I hand wash and vacuum my car myself in a heated garage. Again no 17yr old porter is running it through a car wash and wiping it down with a dirty towel.

- Toping off fluids is a minimal expense at the most. I pick up my syn- oil at Wallyworld for dirt cheap and our A4 and Q5 use the same fluids.

- I keep records of every gas fill up/oil change/ tire rotation or any other maintenance. I have a binders that list in chronological order every penny I have ever spent regarding each car.

- I have always purchased my cars which costs me significantly less than leasing in the long run. I tend to hold on to my cars for a long period of time.

- My time is well spent maintaining my cars. It gives me peace of mind to know that everything has been done the right way and I am blessed with the ability to do it.

- Sorry you feel you're above auto maintenance but to me it is both relaxing and gratifying. The cost savings of not buying Audicare or paying other people to fix or wash my car buys me more than enough tools to get the job done.

I'm not a mechanic by trade but enjoy it as a hobby. Turning a wrench doesn't make me better than anyone else and neither does owning your own business. Just because I desire to do my own work doesn't mean I have more free time than anyone else. It just means I make time to do it.
I was simply stating a fact that I would pay 2-3 times more for maintenance if I purchased Audicare. If you want to pay for it and don't have the ability or the desire to do it yourself for whatever reason ...so be it.

And I too enjoy maintaining and detailing my cars - all of them. To me, it is enjoyable and informative, relaxing and fulfilling. I am a white collar guy not afraid to get his hands dirty, and my time playing with my cars is like my time playing with my toys as a child. Researching details is why we are all on this forum, right? So we all waste time here on the forum rather than pay someone else to research for us.

Nah, sometimes I just get a few hours less sleep at night because I maintain my cars.

Oh, and forgot to stay on topic of the OP. We just bought our A4Q last week, Meteor Gray, automatic, nav, premium plus, winter mats, 18 inch 5 spoke wheels. Darn nice. Now here is something that I am NOT super efficient at, is syncronizing the Blackberry to the Bluetooth in the car. The dealer did it for me because he said it was kind of "iffy" - meaning he must have had several customers have trouble after the delivery.

I ordered my winter tires and expect them in a few days. The allseason Pirellis aren't all that bad, meaning better than my Kumho summer tires that I had to do one winter day with on my Impreza, but can't wait for the Blizzaks. Three seconds of pushing the button on the IP, and the stupidity control is pretty much turned off, allowing accurate driving of the car. While pretty heavy, the car is pretty controllable while throwing it around. First day after purchase was a nice snowy day here in Michigan. Made the purchase all that more satisfying!

Actually the way to go is to purchase not lease. The write off isn't the major difference, it's the cost of insurance, the ability to keep a vehicle beyond lease terms without extra cost, and most importantly the asset value you have at the end of the term with a purchased car that makes a difference.
I have an LLC myself and lucky enough to have a gf that is well versed tax law.

I can't remember ever missing a day at work because of car issues and I actually enjoy the time spent and satisfaction of being able to repair and maintain my vehicle.

I can't even count the number of horror stories ive read on these forums from owners who left their cars in the care of others.

Here is a local example of what happened to an enthusiats car when he brought it in for 5k mile service.

To each his/her own.

We're going in the afternoon of the 23rd. I wanted to do it Christmas Eve but my salesman is off for a family event, so we'll do it a day early. I have my S5 scheduled for service that day, so I'll get her to take me to the dealer to pick up my car and find an excuse to go by the showroom on the way. My sister and husband will be there to take pictures.

Ok, now that you answered ksalno the delivery date is this Thursday, December 23rd, you still have a bit of time to read over this admittedly comprehensive list of things to check out during delivery.

I honestly don't expect you to do everything listed, pick and choose what is important to you. Add your own after if you think of something not on the list. Just remember though, HE'S checking his list and checking it twice... So if he has time so should you .

All the best and hope all goes well .
