Air Conditioner Smell

I have had the same problem of bad smells coming from my 2015 A-4 Quatro. ....Took a 32oz spray bottle, with 1/4 cup alcohol, 1/2 cup distilled vinegar and the rest with water. Parked in garage and ran the a/c on full blast. Misted the mixture into the vents for five minutes.
Couple of questions: 1. What vents, exactly, did you "mist the mixture into"? And, 2. How did you get the system to "run in reverse" to suck the mixture in....instead of blowing it back AT YOU??
Thanks for any more details.......from ANYONE! :-)

You need to get the solution or foam to the evaporator coil and doing it through the vents is probably the least effective way. As I recall, some of the vents have a screen and with an unblocked vent you can never tell where the solution is ending up. I use one of the foaming cleaners that come with a tube. Remove the cabin filter and you can insert the tube through the housing over to the coil, giving you the best shot at coating the coil with the foam. If you take a mirror and a light you can see the coil through that opening.
