I've installed a front and rear dash cam and this is how I was hiding the wires. The image below is from the front driver's seat where I am hiding the wire as shown below. Is there anyway I am obstructing the functionality of an Air Bag in case it has to deploy during an accident?
Need suggestion on hiding the wire hanging on the back if someone has come across such situation. I have used 33ft wire for the back camera which is running from front to back. I do have a 55ft wire as well. Although I am done installing it but I can think of using the 55ft wire if it can somehow solve the purpose of hiding it.
The force of the airbag is going to go right around that cable.
That said, why not just pop out and reinstall the A-pillar trim? Use a small flathead to open the AIRBAG cover, there's a Torx bolt under there. Then just pull the trim away from the pillar starting at the top. The bolt is at the top, then there's a clip half way down and a clip further down. If you need to fully remove the trim, you have to remove the fuse panel cover and unhook the trim from the gap cover at the bottom. Then you can set the cable however you want in there.
I don't know anything about the rear pillar trims in a sedan.
