no. that is the correct size to go with, in fact it is one of the recommended sizes. the other standard 17" is 245/45 for the A4.

Ahh, I didnt bother doing the calculations.
Just seems odd since I run the OEM 255/35/19.

I have a new set on wheels sitting in the garage waiting for my Avant to arrive. Looks like the end of January now, so Winter will be half over before I can try them! I've used Michelin for years and thought I'd try the WS70's after reading many good reports. I particularly like their reported performance on ice. I'm driving mountain roads and want all the grip I can get!

Default Snow, Snow, Snow!

Last year I mounted Blizzak WS-60s on my 2009 A4 Prestige with a 6 speed manual transmission. I have a separate set of rims for the Blizzaks and store them in my garage during warm weather. I had a great time driving on snow packed secondary roads in Illinois and Indiana. I enjoy winter hiking but I do not want the risk of getting stuck in a snowbank. This year I changed to my winter tires in early December. Then we had our first 9 inches of snow on Dec 3-4. While cars were going sideways down the roads the A4 with the Blizzaks and quattro gave me control over the car and road. If you have freezing temperatures, ice and snow it is a good investment to have a set of dedicated winter tires.

Just a follow up, the WS70's rock. Awesome in the deep snow we just got here in Boston. Huge difference over the all-season Contis. Do notice the softness difference on the highway and also they are *very* quiet at highways speeds. That was a pleasant surprise.

We've had some tremendous snow/ice here the past few weeks and I've been thoroughly impressed by the ws70's. They felt firmly adhered to hardpack snow and ice even as I watched other cars slide off the road or spin out around me.
