My car got hit on the roof(the area above the B pillar) while driving on high way. I would like to partially take down the headliner to get access to the dented area.
Any idea how to remove the two passenger side grab handle? Thanks in advance.

The wrong way would be to ask two different dealerships to do it for you while the car was in for service. They'll just break the tabs and claim "we don't have the proper special tool", forgetting to mention they broke the tabs.
The right way would be to go to audi.snapon.com and order the proper VAS 6543 tool and then do it correctly yourself.
The alternative way would be to find something like the tool. I couldn't find anything from a quick look and decided to get the tool for separating the headliner from the sunroof area, so just bought the VAS tool.
Just slip it into the slot and then rotate the handle towards the roof, so it pivots on the 90 degree bend, such that the end of the tool then pushes down on the center insert.
If you just insert something and try to pull straight down, you'll just break the tabs.

Oh, and be sure to just pull the "expanding caps" only until you feel the first detent; pictured. Pull it all the way out by mistake, just put it back in. Also, use the tool to pry out the handle mounts from the roof; I was worried if I pulled on the handle it would pull apart, even with the caps in the proper position.

wow, thanks much. So there is no screw for the handle? I can just remove the handle after pop up the tab? I will try it out this weekend.
