APR Performance
Wednesday I got the APR stage 1 installed on my wife's A4 (2011 Prestige, 6 sp. Man.). I had it done at Greff Motors in Metairie, seem like really good people. Anyway, I wanted to quantify the difference, so I did a quick test last night on stock vs. 93 mode. I wanted as few variables as possible, so I did 6 runs from 60 mph to 90 mph on flat ground, no AC, in sixth gear only. That way I eliminated my shifting. Started out at about 2000 rpm, so right where the torque gains are big. The results:
Run Mode Time (sec)
1 93 9.7
2 93 9.8
3 Stock 13.1
4 Stock 13.1
5 Stock 13.1
6 93 9.9
Thought I would share the results.

Excellent info
I've been looking for someone to post some objective results of the APR upgrade, rather than subjective. I'm in the market and trying to decide between the 4cyl A4 (assuming I would chip it) and S4. I had the same issue in 2000, and ended up with the A4, bought the APR chip upgrade, and was very happy with my decision. I did both low rpm and high rpm testing on my 2000 A4, using 60-80 to avoid gearshifting (and traffic tickets):
60-80 in 3rd gear stock: 5.7, with APR: 4.6
60-80 in 5th gear stock: 9.9, with APR: 6.9
Like you experienced, the most pronounced gains were at low rpm, but the high rpm gains were also pretty significant (close to 20%).
Don't suppose you'd like to repeat your test, 60-80 in 3rd gear to get a high rpm result?
Thanks! JR
