Audi a4 b8 2008 steering controls malfunction

Hi im a car dealer and have had purchased an audi a4 b8 2008 which needed a steering column since replacing it the traction control light wont go of the steering is heavier then normal not to heavy and the main issue is the steering wheel controls wont work like changing songs increasing volume and cruise control ive been told its the indicator stalk but dont think its the problem has anyone ever had a similar issue and also what could the problem be thank you.

You need to scan the car and see what codes are present. The steering wheel controls are connected via the coil spring to the J527, address 0x16. The G85 steering angle sensor is also integrated into this J527. You probably have some DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) from this address.
