Is Audi Care worth it??
I will be picking up my new B8 this week (I hope) and I was planning on adding Audi Care (4 years of schedule maintenance) This package is 4 additional years, 1 year comes with the car. I feel the $ 650.00 package is well worth it. Any comments from you guys??

Call service department and ask how much the 3 years of additional
service would cost. That would allow you to do the math and see if its a good deal.
Just to give you an idea my wife's 45K service on her Rx330 should have been about $500. By changing the oil myself and the engine air and cabin air filter, the cost went down about 40%. I like to do my own oil and the air filters were very easy on her RX. So for me if the rest of the services (diff fluid, trans fluid and possibly brake fluid) is substantial enough, then I will but this extension for the B8.

A lot depends on your location to your dealer......
When I had my B6 I lived 20+ miles from my nearest dealer. In Los Angeles that is an hour or more driving. It was always a pain in the a$$ getting my car there and I hated the dealer. When Penske opened in West Covina they were way better to deal with. So the short of it is, I would buy it now. If I had to deal with Rusnak again, NO WAY.

Also if leasing Audi Care raises the residual by 1%.

Thanks - what other options change residual?
I see that there are different lease rates and residuals based on engine, tranny and now trim level. If adding Audi Care increases residual by 1%, are there other options that raise or lower it as well? ie: does S-Line lower the residual at all? Sure hope not...
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Is Audi Care worth it??
I got it with my B8. $650 over 3-4 years is not much when purchasing/leasing a $40k car.
I actually also got the Tire/Wheel protection plan too for $750. Total was $1500 and they just added it to my lease payments..brought it up by about $30.
Well worth it IMHO. I don't want to or plan on spending a single dime on my B8 out of pocket when it comes to service/maintenance.

Re: Call service department and ask how much the 3 years of additional
I think if you do it yourself, it'll ALWAYS be cheaper because you're saving on labor which IMHO is the most expensive part of car service. I just got it for the peace of mind. I have 3 Audi dealers in a 30-40 mile radius and the AudiCare is good nationally so great when on long roadtrips and having a problem.
