Default AFAIK S-Line drops residual 2%. (The difference between 15k lease and 12k lease.)

i.e. a 12k lease on an S-Line has the same residual as a 15k lease on a non-S-Line.

Sadly S-Line is deemed very poor resale value by the leasing companies.

Default Interesting that AoA drops 1 point but the enthusiast repurchaser would consider it a plus.

But the Audi dealer might sit on it for a while in trying to sell the car after turn in, so it seems that AoA wants to pass this added cost/hassle onto the original leasor.

Default You misunderstood what I said.

I didn't say to do it all but IF you like to change the oil and filters yourself, the cost comes down alot. Then its basic math for the balance.

Call the service department and ask them how much things cost and do the math if you do not want to do any of the service. It should be easy to decide.

Then you could take it further and say x amount of dollars paid today is more costly that .25x paid 1x/yr for 4 yrs.

Its basic math in the end no matter how you cook the numbers.

Good luck.

Default S-line on 2006 B7 was a poor value (3 grand and did not include sport seats) ...

I know because my car had it. On the other hand, I would have never gotten a B7 without the S-line 18" rims and external body add-ons. They made all the difference.

On the B8, the price tag is $500 less and it includes sport seats (to be fair, the B7 S-Line included a unique trunklid and front grille, items not included in the B8 S-line). So from an enthusiast viewpoint, it's a better value now, but I can see lease residuals being set lower for leasing companies. I wonder if the 19" SP will drop the residuals by 1 point. I hope not since I have my eyes set on getting the SP with Prestige trim.

What bothers me more is that the residuals for the higher trim levels are lower than the Premium.

Just make sure you know what it covers! Its definitely not as extensive as the old 4year/50K standard coverage used to be. Audi Care for my 2007 Q7 doesn't cover ANY brake maintenance at all (and that's friggin expensive!).
