Default Audi Customer Care

Has anyone ran the numbers on whether the Audi Customer Care (now going for $740) is worth it for the 15k, 25k, 35k, and 45k scheduled services? Just wondering with less than a month to my delivery.

Also, anyone buy an extended warrenty upfront?

I ran the numbers on this going to a local Audi specialist and it comes up a bit less than Audi care, by about $100-200. Note Audi Care does not include tire rotations! You do get a rental during service but also depends how far the dealer is from you. I went with the shop 10 min away versus dealer 30 min away. I do plan to take it to dealer for 5K and 45K just to ensure all latest updates are present on the obc. You have to weight all the options, call a local mechanic (who can reset the service light) and get quotes based on the Audi maint sched.

But there is the option of still going to Audi and not getting the Audi care. My dealer has deals sometimes on oil changes and rotations. So I guess it is a question of including in the cost of the car or pay it when you need it.

In that case edmunds.com (for some reason it's no longer there - maybe they are updating) has the maint schd or get one from the dealer and price it out one item at a time. I check the site and it was about $1100 for all the service if you don't get audi care (dealer was claiming at $1500 value but I guess they may be adding thinks edmunds did not).

Just go to Discount Tires if you want a free tire rotation. They always do it for free hoping you'll give them business down the road.

BTW, if the car is leased, doesn't AFS require you to get service done at an Audi dealer?

No. This has never been true, whether you lease or buy. As long as it's an ASE-certified technician, Audi must honor your warranty regardless of where you had maintenance done.

yup, if your maintenance is not up to par they'll find out during the inspection anyway

...you can do your own service as long as you keep receipts and a log of when and what services were performed...
