Default audi electrical problem

I just got my audi 4 months ago and have been getting some weird problems with the car. When I'm driving, the car dash will randomly start beeping telling me traction control is off, engine light will go on, the rpm will drop to zero, radio turns off, and doors unlock. I've taken it to the dealership twice already and last time they said they replaced the whole dashboard. I have no idea what's going on and was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and solved it.

well actually the problem has gotten worse today, after the beeping stuff happens, the dash will just shut down, rpm goes to zero, mph goes to zero, temp goes to zero. When i turn on the radio and go to the car setting, it thinks the car is not ignited. After 10 minutes or so the dash will turn back on. The car is still running and driving fine the whole time

sounds like a lemon, I would bring it back and demand they give me an R8 for the same payments!

good luck with the issue, let us know the outcome

Keep taking the car back to the dealership until they give you a new one.

Call AOA and let them know what's going on. My experience is they're pretty receptive to unusual things like this on a new car and will call your service manager and work with him until it's resolved and at the same time, you get it on record just in case it can't be fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

Sounds like you may have the very first haunted Audi B8.

I would stop driving the car until this is resolved. An engineer with a volt meter and harness wiggling experience needs to nail down the cause, and repair it. Sounds to me like the dealer used the shotgun approach by changing the instrument cluster. That trick worked with '68 VW Beetles, but it won't play today. My first check would be to identify the ground point in the car where the offending displays are connected and start there.

Really, take it in and have them give you a free loaner, explain to them how unhappy you will be if you get hit in the kisser with malfunctioning electronics that might deploy the airbag.
