I guess I'm a bit premature in posting this but having just arrived at work I've got to wait 8 hours before I get home and give this a go so bare with me.....

We've all heard how the experts at B&O have tuned the system and it's different depending on if you've got an Avant/saloon, leather/cloth, petrol/diesel etc. Well a guy on a UK TT forum had the idea of changing the settings via vag-com on his leather lined Mrk II TT with Bose.

Now obviously the codes will be different but here's his post :

"The Sound System (J525) coding. Bit 7 00xxxx? allows setting according to the interior of the car. Mine was 00xxxx7 which is for Right-Hand-Drive/Leather/Gasoline. I changed it to 00xxxx5 which is for RHD/Cloth/Gasoline and the bass tone came booming out. It's now too much to have the bass on full. If you set 00xxxx1 which is for RHD/Cloth/Diesel then, for me the bass is too much."

Basically the idea is set it to cloth and the bass gets enhanced. I don't think the Avant is as bassy as the saloon so I'm going to have a hack about tonight so see how it gets on. If anyones got a spare 1/2 hour before then let us know what you find

Heh, I wonder if S-line seats (Alcantara + leather) would have their own 3rd version of acoustic tuning, or if those would just be programmed for cloth or leather.

Is there a setting for Left-hand drive/Alcantara/gasoline/big fat guy wearing too much fleece?

I wonder if there's a setting for the gallon of hair gel I use to sculpt my "faux-hawk" and the orange tanning goo I wear.
