Default B8 Avant Cargo Net

Some discussion prior on this topic. Mine came with it but seems others did not. Unfortunately there is no part# on the item - sorry.

The retractable net sits parallel to the retractable cargo cover and when in that position can be extracted to special inlets the hooks at the either end of the net snap into. This creates a barrier between the cargo area and the rest of the vehicle.

When both rear seats are folded, the cargo net assembly can be unlatched from it's home position and slit into brackets located on the rear of the folded seats. Once in place the cargo net is extracted and hooked into two additional inlets to form a barrier between the driver/passenger front seats and the rear.

We don't have a dog, yet, but will come in very handy when we do...

Default I don't consider this a cargo net.

I started a topic on this a few days ago and my Avant came with this feature. I'd call that a load compartment barrier, not a cargo net. I didn't, however, know it could be relocated to the folded seat position. That's very handy to know. Thank you.

Default I'm talking about something like this...

The picture shows a cargo net, but the product description says cargo liner. I think the product description is wrong, especially considering it's $38 when the other cargo liners are over twice that price. I just haven't been brave enough to take the plug and buy the thing on the faith that it'll show up as a cargo net. Also, the photo is not of a B8 model so it may have the same fit problems of the one my dealer gave me from a B7 model. My dealer doesn't know anything about it. Anyone feel like being a guinea pig?

http://www.audi-collection.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=8A9061462A+52F&SKW=AUA4CF& Cat=car&am

Default Here's my net

While stopping at the dealership to pick up my [free] "Gummifussmatten", I asked my salesman yesterday whether the Avant cargo net was available yet. He said "didn't you get one included with your car?" I said "No - I thought it was an optional accessory." A few minutes later he came back with one in his hand. "We don't have an Avant on the lot so I took this out of a sedan." Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I thanked him profusely and immediately hooked it up. It might be just a little tighter than an actual Avant net, but it's very stretchy and works just fine. Bonus: one side has a pocket to hold small items.

Sorry to mis-characterize, this is a "barrier" for those who care....

Default Yup, I got one included with my sedan just like that one

Those pockets are really useful too! I don't know about the avant, but the sedan has these hook things on the sides of the trunk where the cargo net can hook to so you can make it sorta upright. This is where those pockets come in really handy! I'm not sure if that's what these are really meant for..but that's what I use them for! lol I don't put anything tooo heavy in them either

Default That's what my delaer gave me, but...

...I really think it's from the B7 model and not specifically designed for the B8. You should be able to hook the circlets between the claws over the two upper D-rings/tabs above the D-rings closest to the hatch. Not only won't the net stretch that far unless I disconnect the front D-rings, but neither the rings or the claws fit onto the upper D-rings/tabs. We had a net with our B6 and it fit in all locations and you could for a tent between the four lower D-rings and the two upper D-rings/tabs.

My Avant's net is not doubled-over like this (single-thickness net). Is the sedan net different?
