Default Battery keeps going flat

Lately I have been having trouble starting my Audi due to battery problems I have checked the alternator and battery both seem okay alternator is throwing out about 14 V not sure if it's the lack of use of the car due to my wife only uses it for the school run and back on for work in total 6miles .3 miles each way
The display is telling me to take the vehicle for a run to charge the battery but on some instances the battery has been flat

Your battery may have volts, but not enough amps to get the car started. Needs a good charging or possible replacing. How old is battery?

Should be ok at 2 years. I'd say that car needs to be driven more - 6 miles probably isn't enough to charge the battery back up and it's been dwindling over time.

If you tend to use your car for short runs, your battery will never get recharged. The best solution is to hook it up to a battery conditioner or maintainer when it is not in use so you can be sure the battery has a 100% charge. Otherwise, you will have to be diligent in driving the car on a long run once in a while to charge up the battery. At the rate it is going, a battery that is always discharged will have a shorter life compared to one that is almost fully charged most of the time.
