Howdy,
My 2013 with MMI 3G is experiencing some Bluetooth issues.
When I connect my phone, the handsfree works. Once the phone is disconnected and reconnected, handsfree doesn't work. My Android Bluetooth settings then say "Audi xyz (no phone)".
The car was bought used, the green menu was enabled by the previous owner. I suspect something amiss in there, but I don't know what to look for so I won't change anything.
With the phone disconnected, I see "SIM" on the bottom right of the screen. When the phone connects, I get an image of a phone, a left arrow and the car. I can't take pics now.
It's an SE Technik, MMI 3G High with the special scroll wheel on the centre controller.
The phone is fine handsfreeing elsewhere.
Is there a factory settings feature in the green menu? Or an online resource saying what should be what?
Thanks

That indicates your contacts are being synced. Once the sync is done, it goes away. If it doesn't go away, then there is an issue with syncing your contacts. I would recommend to factory reset the entire MMI to make sure nothing is amiss. You can perform a factory reset from the main menu. Go to the main menu and then press the corner button for Setup MMI. You should see a factory reset/delete user data item in the menu. Go in there and select all components and then perform the reset, then pair your phone again.

Thanks for the replies.
I've deleted all the bonded devices a few times already, no help.
I'll try the MMI reset soon
The SIM icon with no SIM slot or phone connected is the other confusing bit.
Thanks!

Just a guess, but as I remember it there is a choice when pairing if the telphone book shall retrieve data from the telephone memory or the SIM (in the phone), or maybe both? Maybe it tries to access contacts on the SIM card (which modern phones doesn't use).
The MMI also has capability for rSAP (remote SIM Access Profile), don't activate it if your phone doesn't support it.

The car doesn't have Mobile Prep High so doesn't do rSap, which my phone supports anyway.
