It's "under" the glove compartment - you have to stick you head in the passenger footwell and you should see a plastic lever you slide to the side and a "door" comes off that allows you to pull the filter down and out.

I was having the same issue last night. I looked in the engine compartment near the firewall and nothing. I tried looking under the glove compartment but didn't spend much time there. I will look again tonight.

Where did you get your replacement filter from?

This from trse @ AZ:
"The filter's located on the passenger side under the glove box all the way against the firewall, the cover is a foam piece. To get to it, you'll need to pop off the small plastic interior piece on the center console. There's three thumb screws holding the foam piece on. Once you get it off, the filter door is white; its the only white down there. Just slide the door to the right and the filter will pop out. Just change out the filter and put everything back on and you're done."
We have these in stock - the activated charcoal filter (keeps your car smelling fresh) is $12.95. Click here:

Why do you have one version @ $12.95 and one at $29.95. What's the difference besides the brand?

The Mann filter @ $29.95
had been the only option we offered until recently, when we started offering an alternative, the less expensive
NPN filter for $12.95
. They are the same part, different manufacturers. They are both German-made.

I believe Audi recommends ever 15k - I could be wrong - but it depends largely on your driving environment. Dusty/dirty driving conditions will obviously need to be changed more frequently than vehicles that seen clean roads and atmosphere.
