Default Cannot eject navigation dvd

I have a 2009 B8.

I can't eject the navigation dvd in the trunk to put in a newer version.

I saw some threads saying that this could be done via VAG-COM, or I'd have to go back to the dealer to get them to unlock the dvd drive.

Any experience with the dealer? Will they charge me for it?

I had the dealer do it when I bought mine.

It can be done with VCDS (VAGcom) also:
-- DVD navigation eject lock
Channel 68 in the Navigation module you can lock the DVD navigation eject button (anti-theft),
0 = button active
1 = button inactive.

Yeah, I called the dealer. They want $50 for diagnostic time to do it.

Going to try and find someone nearby with a VagCom that I can buy lunch.

I had to get the dealer to do mine. It would not eject. The dealer did it for free. I did take them several hours.

How did you talk them into doing it for free?

I just stopped by the service dept and asked them to open the DVD drive for me as I was unable. They were explaining that I would just need to insert the DVD and the upgrade would happen easily.
I told them that the car was under warranty and that I bought the upgraded maps there, and that I would feel more comfortable with them doing it. They took the car and did the upgrade for me. I really kinda expected them to charge me something but they did not.
