I am very disappointed with my 2009 Audi A4 2.0T. The car burns about 1 quart every 2000 miles. I took it to the dealer (Audi of Dandury). They did a test and told me it was normal. In fact, they told me that the engine is so fuel efficient that it needs to burn oil! Do you have any advice?

Unfortunately, it looks like Audi accepts such oil usage. Check out post #5 in the link below, and I've copied and pasted the text here for easy reading:
.... Audi claims that consuming 1 qt/1200 miles is "within acceptable limits" ....

I know the thread above is from the S4 forum, but the info is generic for Audis and not specific to the S4 as far as I know (but I've been wrong before).
Specifically to the A4, I found this thread:

Your oil usage is certainly higher. Did the dealer perform a 'consumption' test for you or something else? Hope this helps.

Yeah, you should have searched the forum a bit more. Seems like all of our B8's burn oil.
Mine used to burn about 1 qt every 5000 miles. Now it seems like I'm doing 1 qt every 3000 miles.
Basically, get over it. They won't fix/replace anything.

This is exactly my 2011. Was 1 per 5000, now I'm about 1 per 3000. I'm at 35k miles. It's annoying as ****.

OP: another thought. Are you burning oil at that rate consistently from right after the oil change? I was dropping oil after 5K miles of driving leading up to the 10K mark for the next oil change. After that oil change, I decided to change the oil at 5K mi rather than wait the 10K mi. Didn't have to add any, and the oil still looked good color-wise. I don't think the synth oil from dealerships can go 10K mi based on my experience and comments and even oil sample analyses by others.

My '09 has been really inconsistent. For a while it would go through a qt of oil every 3-4000 Kms.....now it's around every 2000-2500 kms. Seems to be getting worse. I notice that it drops more when I really beat on it (WOT), so depending on your driving it could be more or less. I have over 115,000 kms on the car and have learned to deal with it. I have a gallon jug of Castrol Syntec 5/40 in the garage and a one quart (that I refill) in the trunk.
