Cargo space of S4 vs A4

Cargo space of S4 vs A4
The storage volume (seats up) of S4 is listed as 12 cft (350lt), and for the A4 as 17cft (470lt). Why such a difference? I thought both cars have the same dimensions!

I just drove an S4 service loaner (lot's of fun) and looked in the trunk - it looked identical to my A4. My first thought was maybe the A4 is being measured with the seats down but that can't be it. Possibly a typo?

Yah, I couldn't believe it. They offered me a Q5 or an S4. (I usually get an A4 these days). After I hesitated for about 3 seconds, I opted for the S4. What a beast. The DSG transmission is also pretty amazing. I was hoping they would have to keep my car for, oh I don't know, say a few weeks in service awaiting parts or something? No dice - my A4 was ready the next day. Sigh....
