Default Ceramic Tinting

Has anyone compared Formula One ceramic tint with Hüper Optik ceramic tint? Hawaii allows 35% light transmission +/- 6%. Hüper is more expensive but cooler and Formula One Pinnacle series is about $100 cheaper and warmer (50% vs. 61% solar transmission). Any other pros or cons that should be considered? New A4 S-Line somewhere between San Diego and Honolulu.

Default Congrats on the car. Blake will chime in with his ceramic choice and maybe some qualities that he

used to choose one ceramic over another.

Default Re: Ceramic Tinting

I have 35% Huper Optik ceramic tint on a ice silver A4 and it looks great. Living in Boston I haven't had the chance yet to test how well it rejects heat. The only down side thus far is how the Huper film interacts with the defrost lines. Given the thickness of the film as well as that of the defrost lines, there is a noticeable gap around each defrost line. I'm told that this will go away once the film is fully dry. But again, given the New England weather, I'm two weeks in and it still isn't dry.

Default If it matters here's mine with 3M Ceramic 20% front, 35% all around...

it does have the warmth not cool to it but isn't as obvious in this shot, looks cooler in the evening, warmer in the sun.

And by the way, we are in AZ and yes, makes a big difference in heat transfer. Putting your forearm to the windshield vs side windows there is a huge difference in amount of heat radiation.

Default Both products are comparable. I prefer Huper, but the skill of the installer is most important.

So I recommend choosing your film based on the experience and track record of the installer.
