Went down to the dealer for a test drive today. they had a 3.2 P+ and a 2.0T Premium, both in Brilliant black. overall, the car is a hit! only drove the 2.0T. engine note on the 2.0T is pleasantly smooth(ish), compared to previous 4-bangers; very quiet at idle, suitable for a 'luxury' car; almost *too* quiet on throttle for an enthusiast's ear.
Unfortunately, could not really test handling as the area was pretty congested. oh yeah, and the metallic-painted plastic around the gauges that's been discussed here? Yeah, pretty chintzy look/feel at first view. but likely I'll get used to it in time.
Crappy cellphone pics:

2.0T with the DREADED assymetric tailpipe tragedy zOMG THE HORROR!! </sarcasm>

The motor. Plastic covers are here to stay, I guess!

Wheel gap on a Premium 2.0T; kinda hard to tell w/ Brilliant Black paint though. still not as competent as BMW, but not bad

Soo...we went ahaid and put down a deposit for an Ibis White 2.0T Premium Plus! (car is for wife) The best part: this will be a Euro Delivery! or at least we hope it to be; dealer was 95% sure they had an ED allocation spot available for my desired pickup window. woot! $9+/gallon gas over there so I hope the MPG is good!!

"The oil filter cartridge is accessible from above for easy servicing. To prevent oil spillage when changing the filter, a breech pin opens as the filter is removed. This allows the oil to flow back into the oil pan."
