Clicking/Clacking Noise From Front Passenger Seat
I've got an '11 Avant Premium Plus. Only about 5K miles on it now and I'm getting ready to take it in for its free service.
One thing that has been driving me crazy is this clicking noise that comes from the front passenger seat. I can be driving on seemingly perfectly smooth road and this thing for whatever reason is clicking and clacking like crazy. Doesn't make the noise if somebody is sitting in the seat, so far as I can tell anyway. My wife is pretty much the only person that rides in that seat and she does talk a lot so I tend to zone out sometimes (shh.. don't tell).
I'd like to get the dealership to take a look at this but wanted to know if anybody else has experienced anything similar? I feel like getting the dealer to track down a strange noise is always difficult and I'm afraid of the old "Could not reproduce" diagnosis. So anything that I can give to them as suggestions ahead of time would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I had the same thing right around 5k miles. If i held the back of the seat while driving it would stop. Also if i adjusted the seat even just a little it would stop for a while. I was going to talk to the dealer about it but luckily it stopped after a few weeks. I haven't heard it in a month or two now.

Ya, holding the back of the seat helps a little bit. I tried adjusting the seat and that didn't do anything. I looked under the seat and around it and everything seems pretty firm. Almost like the sound is coming from within the seat itself.

I never figured out where the actual source of the sound was coming from. It seemed to be the mechanical system that adjusted the back of the seat, but i can't be certain. It did drive me nuts though while it was going on.
