Has anyone tried to convert the A4 Avant to Allroad?
If so, what does it involve? Is it simply plug and play? and if so, how much it costs?
To me the Allroad looks perfect and can be the best recreational vehicle without being an SUV.
Thanks

Oh excellent thanks!
I don't see suspension as parts of that package. Anyone knows what's the difference on the suspension side (just taller springs, different shocks, etc...)?
Also they say A4 Allroad has a different AWD program and traction control to do better offroading.
Can that program be loaded onto A4 Avant?

My understanding is the A4 allroad does not have the air (height adjustable) suspension like the A6 (C5) allroad. That makes a significant difference from the A6 Avant to the A6 based allroad. Yes you can get the body parts from Europe but the cost is large and you may want to look at the Q5 or upcoming Q3. I have a 2003 allroad and a 2010 A4 Avant so I'm glad you are looking into this.

I bet it would be easier to buy a Euro spec allroad -- probably would be less money, based on my experience of trying to convert my first A8 into an S8 with Joe Hoppen's help.

The exterior parts up top are about $7K which is not that bad, although I may wanna skip a few items. I like the front/rear bumper, under body parts and side skirts. I think that would do the most for making it look Allroad.
I however, would like to also raise the car to Allroad height, I know it's not air suspension anymore, but it's definitely a bit higher (I think I read 26mm ~ 1 inch), so need to source out the suspension and I hope it's just a taller springs set.
The one item that would be great to find out, is the Allroad EPS program for offroading, it's supposed to be quite different to give you better traction in slush, and offroad capabilities. I am not 100% sure if AWD is different, I bet it's the same.
