Does anyone still think that the 3.2 competes against BMW 328 after looking at pricing?

Default Infiniti has no FWD cars. Lexus ES is FWD but does not pretend to be a sport sedan

Acura is a second tier luxury brand. If Audi wants to be in the top tier, they need to offer an all-quattro line-up in this country. In the long term, they should bite the bullet and switch to RWD as the baseline.

Default Um...

"If Audi wants to be in the top tier, they need to offer an all-quattro line-up in this country"

What model line do we not offer in Quattro for 2009?

A3 and TT are now both Quattro....Not to mention that we are the only manufacturer that offers our S and RS models with Quattro. M series and AMG cars are rear drive only.

Default 6-mo wait for A5/S5 is because dealers hardly get ANY cars

My older brother ended up leasing an Infiniti G37 coupe after the Audi dealer he has bought two car from before quoted him a monthly lease payment of $850/month with $11,000 (no kidding!) drive-off on a $47K A5 for a 3-year/36K lease.

The A5/S5 sales volume this past few months is about the same as the $80K A8. I don't know why they introduced this beautiful car in the U.S. if they are not interested in selling any.

By the way, I agree with you that BMW is somewhat in trouble, some of it due to their crazy high lease residuals.

Default True, but they should offer them at launch

The A3 2.0T quattro is coming in its third year and then only with DSG. TT 2.0T quattro is a little quicker after 1 year delay.

One thing you have to hand to BMW is that they don't launch a new model half *** the way AoA does (2.0T manual 6 months after launch, or no B7 3.2 6MT for 2005.5 model year). When they launch a new 3-series, they have the 325i and 330i, i and xi, manual and auto, etc. all on day 1.

Default But the problem with the US is all people care about is price

They dont care about full size spares, they dont care about safety, they dont care about features. All they care about is what "luxury" brand $57,000 car can I lease for $250 month. And if you think things are a shock now, just wait and see. All of these Americans have no clue. Look at the EU. The cars are $30-$60,000 more and gas is $8 a gallon and their economy is booming. Their currency is stronger. They would rather spend more for Quality....thats what gets me. Lexus, Infinity and Acura were brands created for Americans. They are not luxury brands, but day in and day out I have to hear customers say I bought a Lexus, the payment was $200 less and the ride was softer....Im done venting.

Default Valid Point

But you also have to rememeber. That Audi USA is a customer of Audi AG. They have to build a case to market and import such cars. Then they have to negotiate with AG with regards to pricing. What dealers are asking for is reduced order guides....Its hard to stock a car for everyone. I spend at least $80,000 a year on locate transportation charges doing dealer trades all over the country.. It sucks and its very time consuming.

Default Audi AG must have shifted from wanting volume growth in the U.S.

Can't say I blame them with the lousy currency exchange situation. However, I don't think AoA has back tracked from their stated goal of wanting to become the highest volume luxury brand in the U.S. by 2015. They can't achieve that goal selling 400 A5/S5 a month or not offering cars people want for 6 months or a year after launch.

Default Yeah but to get that volume and then take a hundred million hit

three years later like BMW is nonsense. They would rather make the money and keep it. Unlike BMW who had to give it back and have its share prices go into the toilet....its all reletive.

Default And you're still an idiot. You've been playing this broken record since before the A5 world premiere

It's been over 18 months and you're still going.

So either **** or get off the pot.

Buy any one of these vehicles; be it a new A4 of whatever variety you'd prefer.

Buy a new 3 series of whatever variety you prefer.

OR......

For the love of God....STFU!
