6.9 seconds to 60 mph is very disappointing. They should have brought over the 3.2 6MT to lower that number by a second.
Those who have insisted for months that the 3.2 will only be compared against the BMW 328i can see what's coming. Every comarison test down the pike will pit the B8 3.2 against the 335i.
It looks like the 2.0T quattro 6MT will be the performance flagship of the A4 line. Considering gas prices these days, that may not be a bad thing, but the A4 line needs something to compete with the 328i/335i, C350, G35 and IS350. The S4 will be priced well above these natural A4 competitors.

I thought that the 0-100kph time for the 3.2L was 6.1 seconds. Would the altitude (over 1000feet apparently) that they tested at effect this cause 6.6 is quite a lot more that the first reading.
And what is this comment "quickly forgot all about 60 Minutes and unintended acceleration, the poisonous combination". I don't live in America so maybe thats why I don't get it.
Its interesting that they only compare the 3.2L Audi models with 335i's in the US too. Nowhere else does that, its 335i vs S4/S5. Maybe their prices are similar their but elsewhere its not the case apparenty, hence the European/British etc tests.
I would really like to read a review somewhere that compares a 3.2L quattro with a 3.0L TDI quattro. I want to know which is better. Every review I have seen only talks about the engine individually not as a comparison.
Something else I found very interesting was the slalom test etc which was claimed to be the same as the RS4. That must mean that the S4 will be a really great car as it should be better than this one. The braking distance was impressive too, I guess this should be improved on the S4 too.
I think this has convinced me above all else to get an S4 if anything. Unless someone can say that the 3.0L TDI is wonderful, which from some reviews, it is, while others say it isn't.

They make no mention of the torque comparison and the hobbling of the new 2.0T.
If you want sheer performance, the winner is a 335xi with a couple of the option boxes clicked off.
If you want more lux, more relative performance for the bucks and you don't want to wait for the S$ (or its price) -- the 2.0T (probably will all options and a manual transmission) will bring a smile to your face and keep $$$$ in your pocket.
I'm not changing my order, other than to possibly add ACC -- the 335xi equipped as I would want it would be more expensive than the A4 3.2 anyway (at least I believe this will prove the case.)

they have been trying very hard to be taken seriously as a car "mag", but i don't think they have a clue. what they write is typically cliched and status quo populi....
