By repeatedly contacting the guy that you are dealing with, you are letting him know that you really want not just that car but to get into a new car asap. He may end up telling you that it sold already at the other dealer and either steer you to what he has on his lot or string you along with promises of "soon to be delivered" new inventory.

If it was me, I'd just track down which dealer has the car. A few simple emails can do that pretty quickly. Good luck.

Some tips that may help:

Never deal with a salesperson if you are serious about an automobile purchase. Call the dealership and ask to speak to the fleet manager/internet sales manager. These people know that they are dealing with people that know what they want and more importantly what it costs. They don't play games like the average salesperson/sales manager team. Do not accept being sloughed off to a lackey. If you go to the top you usually get top service. People who walk onto a lot looking for a car usually get the worst service/deal.
