Agreed -- Audi of america originally told me this was a defect with my unit - the manual implys that the sound level will be preserved. The asked me to take it to the dealer to diagnose and fix. Then after doing that -- they changed their story and said this is "by design". It's not a huge deal, but it's very anti-intuitive -- it won't hold low volume levels or mute across shutdowns. I also disklike the fact that if you have the MMI "off" to have no audio and you hit the "tel" (or anything else) button, the audio comes back on.

How could you tell I had them? I never noticed a difference with the regular ones.

I got them with the tech package (side assist, home link, keyless start and adaptive lights). You can't get them at all in the US, even with the Prestige package?

LOL, I couldn't tell from the pics. But this gave it away:Correct, they were never offered in the US in 2009 or 2010, at any trim level. No folding mirrors either.

Nope, not available. A4's weren't cool enough.
