$1500 over invoice is way too high! I just bought 2010 A4 Premium + 6M for $300 over invoice. I used carbargains.com and they got quotes from 10 dealers that included all of the doc fees, advertising allowances and other bs charges.

All of the dealers were willing to sell between $300 and $600 over invoice. That's where you should set your target. Good luck!

No Zag dealers in my area. But I tried for nearest major metro and got a price about $800 over invoice which I would be happy with. At least I can take that to the nearer dealer as a tool.

Yeah the region will definitely affect the price with prices for AWD Audis much tighter on the east coast. The same car locally is $500 below invoice but I also have 7 Zag dealers in my area. $800 over invoice in snow country sounds fair.

It will be interesting to see how the dealer responds to that. I would imagine they would be happy with that, but who knows.

How are they doing $500 below inv? Are they getting secret incentives from Audi? Or am I just ignorant? It would seem that the Zag price is good, but probably not rock bottom.

Look at the truecar.com reports for your area and zip codes around you. I saved almost $2000 buying in Chicago versus St. Louis.. and it only cost me $50 in gas to do that.

Thanks, I checked that out. Seems to be getting in line with what I am aiming for.

I have email into one salesguy, I predict he will resist giving me a price over email.

I went to a dealer last weekend and he offered to sell me a 2010 A4 quattro P+, Nav and Sports for invoice without me really trying to push the price too low. Zag shows me $500 under invoice so I might try a Zag dealer next weekeend (surprisingly only 3 in my area, Los Angeles).

I'm also curious to know how the dealer makes any money when you buy under invoice, is it hidden Audi factory incentives or do they just increase your finance rates?

Also, he offered me a 2009 A4 Prestige for 6k under MSRP but not the color or options I want. So you might find some good 2009 deals if the dealers in your area still have any left.
