I need to get a new car but the b8 looks so ugly yet this one pic I found looks so good very subtle
differences but the angles circled in white make it look so much more appealing to the eye imo? If they looked smooth and rounder like the top pic I don't think I would think twice about getting a new b8 but the lower pic seems to be what most of the b8's look like...maybe a exterior update for 2nd year productions? any audi ag designers reading this hopefully 
make it look like the top pic and i'll buy.

Both pics are old "artist concept" photoshop renderings before the car officially debuted.
No car exist like either one at all, although the AudiWorld rendering came quite close to the real deal. And I don't recall a car being face-lifted in the 2nd year of it's model cycle ever. It just doesn't make any financial sense from a business perspective.
Also, maybe it just me, but the first pic that you like so much is, in my opinion, one of the ugliest renderings I've seen. But I do like your sig a lot.

LIke the new look
There hasn't been an A4 that looks great in both pics and in person in quite a long time. The B5 looked great at all angles, do or die for Audi and they got it right and it was priced really competitively for them to get back into the North American market.
B6, looks good up front but I never really liked the rear end (the tail lights just doesn't seem to flow with the overall car). Interior was nice improvement tool.
B7 of course was just really a refresh to adopt the new corporate schnoz, looks good at some angles but the front overhang throws everything off with the new smoother nose.
If the B8 A4 is anything like what the B8 S5 is (which by the way is drop dead gorgeous in both photos and in person), the B8 is gonna be a looker IMO. Proportions are just right. I was a bit hesitant on the rear lights but seeing the S5, it looks good.

In the end, everybody has different opinions on the new design but the new platform is a marked improvement, especially on how well the S5 drove compared to the B6/B7 S4.

yeah those angles look pretty good and the lower one looks surprisingly ok but some of the pics peop
le have taken in person in europe makes the front bumper look a little ricey with the lower lips flaring out a bit too far for me imo.

No different than any new model release
Not really the platform itself being the issue but the electronics, engine, etc. for example, one thread on the A5/S5 about a coolant leak.
Give it a year and things should be better.
