Default I was thinking the same thing...is 'retensioned' the same thing as saying 'automatically applied'?

if so, that's not good for people who want to take their cars to track events

Default I don't believe so. What's being described is a self correcting mechanism for thermal expansion...

i.e. if you set the brake while the discs are still hot the thickness is increased over nominal due to expansion and when the brakes cool you may not have enough pressure to keep the car safely braked. So the system checks the temperature of the rotors, and presumably uses a temperature model to account for cooling and determine when the brake tension needs to be increased due to contraction. Clever.

For your question, so long as you don't set the parking brake to begin with I don't think you'll have a problem with it retensioning into hot rotors.

Default Yes, it is. However, the EPB was on the A8 originally

and wasn't really improved for the C6.

Default From what I heard, Hill Hold Assist for MTs are great if you live in places like

San Francisco for stoplights. It's a real pain when parking though.

Default Or if you don't have any ***** :-)

I could see it being useful but having learned without it the feature would drive me nuts - based on my limited time using it with various Subarus in the past anyway. Being able to roll back down a hill is frequently useful too.

Default oic that makes more sense. but then again, is this really a problem?

I've never heard of a parking brake 'failing' some time after initially being set. maybe I don't live in hilly enough neighborhood to have experienced this.

Default Back when I had FWD, definitely...no need for that with Quattro!

My TT kicks out its rear end quite nicely with a little throttle...
