Default ipod adapter

just picked up a 2010 a4 it has the old style ipod cord in the glovebox that works with my older ipad but i have a newer gen5 ipod ,
what adapter do i need to use the small plug type ipod some of what i have seen for adapters are just the small plug and some have the small plug and the audio jack on them as well kinda unsure of witch one i need thanks for any help guys

I'm using a bluetooth audio receiver with the 1/8" aux audio in my glovebox. plus side, it was cheap and works well, downside I have two separate bluetooth connections in my car one for the hands-free phone and one for audio and there's no control of the audio device except for volume but at least my phone's not trapped in the glovebox. I have a few friends with Audi and Mercedes rides who have gotten this and speak well of it:

Or you could have obtained an inexpensive iPod from eBay that was dedicated full time to the AMI in the glovebox and still had full MMI control of your music.

yea i had a spare 32gb ipod i put the music i wanted on it and my wifi hot spot in the glovebox next to it and have my music plus control of my i tunes radio stations at my finger tips thru the mmi no need for satelite radio at all
