Issues with AMI and iPod, Sound Check won't stay off
I'm running a 2013 A4 with B&O system and am having issues with my iPod.
I noticed the sound was less than good when listening to my iPod via AMI, and while investigating, discovered that the Sound Check feature in the iPod (actually an iPhone 4 being used as an iPod) was activated.
I disabled Sound Check, and instantly the sound improved immensely. I figured that was the end of it, but the next time I started my car, the sound was poor again, so I checked Sound Check. It was on. And every time I re-start the car or disconnect/reconnect the iPod, this same thing happens - Sound Check is forced back on.
I should point out that this reproduces with both blue-grommet and red-grommet AMI cables. I've tested with my iPhone 4, my wife's iPhone 4, and my 5.5G iPod video. Results are always the same. Sound check will not remain off, and when it's active, the sound quality is significantly reduced.
I've spent hours searching the Internet and this very forum. I've found little information and what I have found has been unhelpful.
Is there anyone here who can help solve this for me?

I looked around on the apple forums a bit. There's an option in iTunes on your computer to disable the sound check (Normalize) in the Preferences. Try turning that off and resync everything.
Beyond that, I don't see any useful answers for permanently disabling sound check. I have a friend that's an apple guy, I'll ask him.

Thanks for the reply, ports.
I, too, found the thread you're referring to. Unfortunately, I've confirmed that Sound Check is completely disabled in my iTunes library, yet when connecting my iPod to my Audi AMI, the Sound Check feature in the iPod is forced on. It is so frustrating! In any case, I appreciate the response.
Anyone else have any ideas of information about this most annoying issue?

1. Apparently, either no one has this happening or doesn't feel it's an issue.
2. Try a general Google search. If nothing turns up, see #1.
I use SD cards and import into my Jukebox. Both are have superior sound to the analog signals from my iPhones.

I have this issue as well in my 12' A7, when I hook up my 4th gen touch to the AMI cable the "Sound Check" feature auto turns itself on I constantly am switching it off after each car start then it stays off the duration of the drive, quite annoying as it severely degrades the quality of sound, I wish there was a VAG com mod to fix this
