Culture shock compared to my 1998 A-4 Avant, Pelican Blue, 5 speed manual, Quattro, and, other than heated seats, pretty much everything else that was offered at the time (leather, sunroof, Bose) but still all good.

Even though it hurts to give up driving a stick (I haven't been without in just under 40 years) I also haven't been without a small AWD wagon and that ultimately took priority. I toyed with the idea of keeping the '98 but have opted to sell it.

Hi! I am new to this forum. I have been lurking around for a while now, as I am starting to do my research for a new car, and the A4 Avant seems to be a very attractive option!

Anyway, I LOVE this Jet Blue color! I think it's the best color for the A4 Avant! How come I do not see this color on the Audi website? Is it a special order? I am just wondering how you got it in this color? I would love to have an A4 Avant like yours! It's absolutely beautiful! Thanks in advance for the information.

Thanks. It was a special order. Audi permits you to custom color the car using any color available on one of their current models. The program is called Audi Exclusive and the cost is $2500. It's definitely not for everyone but I figured that I'd be paying a $500 upcharge for metallc paint anyway (therefore the Audi Exclusive was actually a $2000 add on for me), I really didn't find the A-4 colors all that exciting, and I tend to keep cars for an extended time (I've had my 1998 A-4 Avant since it was new) so I felt that it was worth getting something I really liked. BTW, Jet Blue is offered on the R-8.

Schwartz28, thank you so much for the explanation! You know, I fell in love with the current A4 Avant when I saw the first publicity pics in that metallic reddish color (was it Garnet Red or something like that?) Sadly, it's not available in the US. Now that I see your Jet Blau, I think that it has to be my favorite color for the new A4! I think that it looks better than any of the currently available A4 colors here too.
