Default intake

Finally I found a post on this kit!

So Ive wanted to get this kit for a while and I finally got it and installed 2 weeks ago. I think it sounds horrible. When reving from 2500 and up it sounds like an inconsistant whistling/squeeling noise. It kind of sounds like belts squeeling. Releasing the gas it sounds pretty cool but thats about it. I havent felt much of a power gain either. Specs on my car is 09 B8 6speed. Does anyone else feel this way. Also may be a really stupid question but i didnt oil it yet would that affect the sound of the air being sucked in? If I cant figure out how to change it I am taking it off so if someone is looking to buy let me know. I still have all boxes and hardware.

Default Cold Air

Get the Cold Air K&N Intake, sounds really good and i gained alot of power. I have a 09 A4 B8. I still get that same sound every once in a while (especially the first week or two) but since then its pretty much gone away.

Maybe it's just me but I wasn't a fan of the kit. I had it on for a little over a week and I took it off this past weekend. I didnt see a gain in power and I saw loss in mpg. If anyyone is looking to buy on soon let me know. It is basically brand new kit for discounted price. I have everything including the orinignal boxes and reciept.

I think he meant:

Dude, my intake is so noisy that I MUST be SO much faster!

I have a CD of Ferrari F1 exhausts revving that I play in my Alfa Romeo.. Adds at least 280hp on top of the 150hp under the hood...and a 430 hp Alfa can move like Lightning McQueen.

Sounds seriously fast dude

I started off with the stock K&N fliter replacement and noticed a small gain. Then I upgraded to the APR/Carbonio airbox and didn't really notice any improvement from the K&N filter in the stock box. The gains for the typhoon system are pretty much on par with the APR system, if not a little less seeing as the heat shielding isn't as good. I've seen a B8 with the typhoon system and I wasn't at all impressed by the heat shield which isn't going to stop any engine heat from entering the intake.

Unless your just buying the kit for the sound, it's not worth it. The stock box works just fine.
