I ordered mine without driving one with the sports package and have absolutely no regrets. Unless you're actually looking for a floaty ride I think you'll be happy with the 18" sports package.

Sadly my wife doesn't like a rough ride and we're probably going to have kids soon so had to go with non-sports. I'm sure handling suffers compared to sport but I still enjoy it just the same.

Go and test drive a Benz C350 Sport with 18" AMG wheels. It should give you a very good feel of the ride quality of the B8 with sport package. The ride quality of these 2 cars are surprisingly similar.

I have a young baby, and a wife that isn't fond of uncomfortable rides, and I ordered the S-Line package... It's been totally comfortable, no issues, no regrets... And that's with 19s.

I didn't want to take the risk....glad it worked out for you. I know my wife hates my friend's 328xi which doesn't even have a sports package because the ride is so rough. She's overly sensitive to these things and the A4 is more of an unnecessary purchase on my part since it's not really needed...why I only have 4700 miles after 9 months....so I had to play it safe.

I had a loaner 2008 B7 A4 with S-line while my B8 was having 5k service and the ride was noticably rougher and the wife complained. So maybe I made the right choice.

more comfortable if tire pressures set to front/rear 32/29psi. sport is almost a must.

That's funny that you said that. I did test drive the C300 with 18" AMG wheels, and the ride was very close to my BMW, so if the B8 drives like that, than I am sold on getting the sports package.

like I said before the only problem is finding one anywhere in the northeast

I've got a 10 months old and a 4 years old with my A4 and sport package. My wife even preferred the sport seats due to their adjustable thigh support and the ride is far from rough, I find the suspension great. Firm but not rough.

As for the kids, the 10 months old doesn't care and the 4 years old says that "it's a cool car because it's got a button under the rear view mirror to make the car cool when the little green light is turned on"
